All of Brenda Franklin's cross stitch patterns can be used for diamond painting. Some patterns may need to have more background added to the size of the design. It is simply a matter of taking the pattern size, including the added background and figuring out the quantities of colours needed.
Start by adding up all the stitches listed in the floss chart, multiply the stitch count height by width (including the added background if needed) to get the total number of squares in the design and then subtract the total number of stitches in the floss chart list. This gives you the total number of stitches for the background. Choose a background color and you are now ready to order your diamond painting kit. Please make sure that you include the size of the canvas you wish to work on as well as how much extra material you need for framing. It will be a 10 x 10 squares to the inch, grided canvas that has a sticky surface protected by coated paper. Take care when ordering the floss colors (resin tiles) to make sure that you include the stitch count for each color including the background color. You will be coating the complete grided canvas with tiles.
